The weird connection between the Dog Star and James Carrey’s career…

Jim Carrey’s Career Tied to Sirius

Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, located in the southern constellation of Canis Major, the largest dog that follows Orion the hunter. Its name is derived from the Greek word Σείριος (Latin script: Seirios; lit. ‘glowing’ or ‘scorching’). The Milky Way passes through Canis Major (from our perspective). At 8.6 lightyears, Sirius is one of our closest neighbors. Its combination of brightness and predictability has made it an important figure in virtually all world societies that study astrology. In ancient times, Egyptians used Sirius to determine when the Nile would flood. The Greeks called Summer’s hot shitty days “dog days” as the real heat would start after Sirius became visible. In Norse mythology they called Sirius “The Torch of Loki”.

Sirius, along with Venus and other bright objects in the sky, has been called the “morning star” “lucifer” etc. and is associated with Enlightenment and knowledge. This iconography is embedded in our most ancient traditions, and is adapted in modern religions and art to reflect human metaphor as well as mathematical realities. It is included in the “Sacred Schools”.

Art hides things that unillumined people would ignore or misunderstand, but will be painfully evident to anyone with some education in these odd lores. One famous example is the “Creation of Adam” painted by Michaelangelo in the Sistine Chapel. To the untrained eye, it looks like a typical Biblical drama of God reaching from the heavens to Adam to give him the gift of life, intellect, and whatever else. However, look closely and you’ll see God’s Heaven is in the shape of a human brain. Michelangelo is telling us that True Divinity comes from your complex human psyche, your many angels and demons guided by an All True Light that we call morality. Our world is merely a reflection of our minds through the labor of our bodies.

Film (in our modern era) refines the art of injecting subtext into what appears normal on the surface. There are many, many films that sneak small images or clues into something hiding under the surface. The Shining is one pioneering film that used advertising and subliminal psychology to imbue his film with hundreds of images quietly instilling you with something you cannot quite define until you attempt defining it.

In that vein, it has come to my attention that Jim Carrey’s film career is apparently loaded with Sirius iconography. Keanu Reeves as well, but we can focus on Jim. This is gonna get slightly schizo, but there’s enough of a pattern here to be interesting.

In the opening scene, he’s rescuing a dog.

The Torch of Loki refers to Lokabrenna, the Old Norse name for the star Sirius, which means “Loki’s Torch” or “Loki’s Brand.” In Norse mythology and modern Heathenry, this association highlights Loki’s connection to fire, chaos, and the Sirius Rising (heliacal rising) that occurs in July or August, coinciding with the hottest “dog days” of summer and the onset of Ragnarok.

Ben Stein alludes to the duality of man, the bicameral mind, the twin code.
When the Dog is rescuing Him from the kidnappers, a reflection of a Cross saying “Jesus Saves” shows in the car window.
When Jim is trapped in a cell, it is the Dog that gives him the key to set him free.
