KM wrote in and shared some info concerning last week’s episode on the Black Knight Satellite.

“The clip where Tyson Chicken is taking about hyperbolic orbits was about omuamua, or moo moo for those of us who aren't ancient Hawaiians. It's completely separate from the Black Knight.

“The image of the BKS is taken from the NASA archive from the STS88 mission, where you can find several other images of the same blanket as it floats away. STS88 was a mission to the space station, which orbits at a cockeye angle specifically so that it passes over Russia. This is important because the Black Knight is supposed to be a polar orbit, going due North/South.

“Prograde is an orbit due east and is used a lot because getting to space requires lots of speed and going due east lets you grab an extra thousand miles an hour from the Earth's spin. Retrograde is due west and is rarely used because you need to make up for that loss of speed. The only things that waste energy getting into polar orbits are observation missions like spy satellites and weather satellites because that orbit lets you cover 100% of Earth since it rotates below you.”

'Oumuamua - An Interstellar Visitor

The first interstellar object detected passing through the Solar System. Formally designated 1I/2017 U1, it was discovered by Robert Weryk using the Pan-STARRS telescope at Haleakalā Observatory, Hawaii, on 19 October 2017, approximately 40 days after it passed its closest point to the Sun on 9 September. When it was first observed, it was about 33 million km (21 million mi; 0.22 AU) from Earth (about 85 times as far away as the Moon) and already heading away from the Sun.

The name comes from Hawaiian ʻoumuamua 'scout'[41] (from ʻou 'reach out for', and mua, reduplicated for emphasis 'first, in advance of'[4]), and reflects the way the object is like a scout or messenger sent from the distant past to reach out to humanity.

ʻOumuamua is a small object estimated to be between 100 and 1,000 metres (300 and 3,000 ft) long, with its width and thickness both estimated between 35 and 167 metres (115 and 548 ft). It has a red color, like objects in the outer Solar System. Despite its close approach to the Sun, it showed no signs of having a coma, the usual nebula around comets formed when they pass near the Sun. Further, it exhibited non‑gravitational acceleration, potentially due to outgassing or a push from solar radiation pressure. It has a rotation rate similar to the Solar System's asteroids, but many valid models permit it to be unusually more elongated than all but a few other natural bodies observed in the solar system.

The word coma comes from the Greek κόμη (kómē), which means "hair".

The Interstellar Medium

The interstellar medium (ISM) is the matter and radiation that exists in the space between the star systems in a galaxy. This matter includes gas in ionic, atomic, and molecular form, as well as dust and cosmic rays. It fills interstellar space and blends smoothly into the surrounding intergalactic space. The energy that occupies the same volume, in the form of electromagnetic radiation, is the interstellar radiation field. Although the density of atoms in the ISM is usually far below that in the best laboratory vacuums, the mean free path between collisions is short compared to typical interstellar lengths, so on these scales the ISM behaves as a gas (more precisely, as a plasma: it is everywhere at least slightly ionized), responding to pressure forces, and not as a collection of non-interacting particles.

🌙 Lighting rig: A Night At The Opera Tour

The rig is basically the same as the previous but sometimes the blue row is switched with the green row, as shown on The Christmas concert in the Hammersmith Odeon 1975. Another change is the addition of more side lights and their debut of ceiling lights at the front of the stage, there was also an addition of small pink lights in the main top row of lights in between the yellow lights. The side lights were now 4 lights across and still 4 lights down.
One of the first lighting rigs Queen ever owned (apparently this one but I'm not sure) was later sold to Saxon who toured with it a few years ago. Queen believed in the constant updating of their stage equipment and rigs and thus were a force behind the promotion of new technology in this sphere. They OWNED all the lighting rigs (unlike other bands who just hired them) and sold some of them to other bands (ELO toured with their Crown rig, for example).

🌙 Lighting rigs News Of The World Lighting rig: News Of The World Tour

The rig for this current tour is practically a scaled down rig of the one in the Earls Court shows in June 1977. The Crown was built in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. There are no hanging columns of pairs like in the previous rigs. There are single rows of lights that run along the truss of the underside of the rig as shown. The rig is circular truss that is lined with lights; There is an enormous fabric that is stretched vertically on top that is shaped to make it resemble a Crown. At the points of the Crown are strategically placed lights to illuminate the fabric during the show as shown. The rig ascends at the start of the show reavealing the stage and descends concealing the stage at the end of the show.
The Crown was 52 feet wide and had an inner circular structure which concealed the lighting rig. This was then sold onto ELO where it formed the top half of their 'UFO' stage set for the Out of the Blue tour. The top of this rig split away from the bottom (the top was raised up by hoists) to reveal the band inside.

This was the first of the stadium rigs controlled by a computer system. This rig was an incredible rig. Other than that, it included red, green, white, blue, and yellow. It had a bird-like design to the rig as shown. At the bottom of the side rigs, it has 3 hanging pairs of unique intelligent lights that change colors, smaller than the previous smart lights. The top portion moves up and down resembling the pizza oven from the Jazz tour. The drum pedestal contains no lights at all. The back wall was a mural of Metropolis from the Radio Ga Ga music video with two enormous cog wheels turning through out the show.
