Caroline Ellison and SBF
CoinDesk, the crypto publication, reported through anonymous sourcing, that Ellison was among the 10-person crew of FTX and Alameda employees who all lived together in the Bahamas. CoinDesk noted that all 10 members were paired off in relationships with one another at some point. Ellison reportedly had an on-and-off relationship with SBF.
On what is assumed to be her Tumblr account, Ellison likened the polyamory in the Bahamas house to an "imperial Chinese harem." She supposedly noted that there was an established hierarchy and everyone knew where they fell within it.
Inflation, recession, depression, etc. All of these economics terms are not useful to the median American, but what is extremely relevant is how far their pay check will go at a fast food restaurant. I looked up the original Taco Bell menu and found that a minimum wage job in 1965 bought you a burrito after 15 minutes of work. To buy a Taco Bell burrito today with 15 minutes of work you'd have to make about 23 to 24 dollars an hour. Since most people made 4 to 5 times as much as the minimum wage in 1965, that means that you'd have to make about 80 or 90 dollars an hour in today's market to have the same amount of buying power at Taco Bell in 1965.
